S...peachy Feedback {LINKY} Party!

So I'm very tardy for this party, but I didn't want to miss it this month. I'm joining the feedback party hosted by Nicole Allison of Speech Peeps.

I have received so much amazing feedback it was so hard narrowing it down to JUST one (or two)...so, I didn't. This month I picked FIVE of you! Please check for your names below. If you see your name, email me (speechbucket@gmail.com) to receive a FREE product (bundles not included). Thank you all for your support, kind words, suggestions, and encouragement! May you all have a Merry Christmas and a Blessed Holiday Season!

Arvickery left the following feedback on my Turkey Trouble Book Companion - "When I am looking at book companions, I am looking for one that targets a variety of speech/language skills. I really like how there are so many language skills specifically targeted within this packet, but there are also opportunities for targeting other skills using the open-ended activities. Thank you!"

Crissyssdslp left the following feedback on my Bear Says Thanks Book Companion - "I used this product last month with the kids. It was perfect-I loved the visuals for the sequencing activities and the answering questions sheets. It was great to have for differentiating the activities-some kids needed the visuals and some could use the sheets with no visuals. It was perfect! Thanks"

Amyespy left the following feedback on my If You Take a Mouse to the Movies Book Companion - "I love your book companions!!! Your graphics are always so cute and well done. I love that I can take one book and one packet and have everything covered from sequencing to wh questions to following directions. You cover it all. Thanks for another great product!"

Julie Fogt left the following feedback on my Bear Stays Up for Christmas Book Companion - "I was so excited to purchase this product as I just recently used your Bear Says Thanks book companion. I love love love the vocabulary components of all your Bear book companions. Thank you so much for this product and for the variety of activities within the book companion!"

MsVSLP left the following feedback on my Bear Snores On Book Companion - "I've been using your book companions for some time and enjoying each one, beautiful illustrations, nice variety of activities, kids don't even realize that they "do work", thank you."

Congratulations all! Don't forget to check out the other feedback winners; head back over to the party with Allison's Speech Peeps!

Love it & List It: Articulation Apps {LINKY}

It's that time again! Another round of Love it & List it, hosted by Jenna over at Speech Room News. This month we're posting info on our favorite articulation apps. I've listed three of my FAVORITES below.

1. Articulation Station Pro - This app is my go to app for quick, data driven articulation sessions. I can get multiple productions, with multiple kids, in a short amount of time. I love that I can easily maneuver through the different sounds (at different levels) within one articulation group (even if every student in the group is on a different sound). The pictures are clear, and my students LOVE swiping the pictures away! :)

2. ArtikPix Full - Again, this is another one of my go to apps for articulation sessions, especially now that you can add your own sound cards and pictures! Love it! This is another great app for working on multiple target sounds in both individual and group sessions. This is one of the first articulation apps I owned, and I still use it almost weekly!

3. R Intensive SLP - This is my MUST HAVE app for the /r/ students on my caseload. They love it! Again, it's an app I can use in both individual sessions or in groups. If you use the Smarty Ears Therapy Center App, it will export the data gathered from your session into your Therapy Center App. Love that!

Don't forgot to head over to Speech Room News to check out the posts from other SLPs participating in the linky party this week.

Enjoy!

Carryover S.O.S. {LINKY PARTY}

Today I'm joining the linky party hosted by Jenn over at Crazy Speech World - Carryover S.O.S: Strategies for Speech Therapy!

Below, I've listed a few of my go to activities used for carryover and generalization of skills.

1. Carryover Notes Home - I will select an activity (or set of activities) and send it home with a note for home practice. I don't like sending too much "homework" home, however if there is an extended break (fall break, winter break, spring break, etc..) I will generally send something home. For articulation/phonology,  I like The Giant Book of Phonology (especially for the auditory bombardment lists), The Jumbo Articulation Books,  5 Minute Kids Articulation Home Activities, Say and Do Rebus Stories, Artic Tickle Stories, and Conversation Scenes/Starters. For language, I love sending retell activities home (I typically have retell activities in all of my book companion sets), book lists (to go along with retell), and fold and flip language/vocabulary books (Fold and Say - Basic Concepts, and Fold and Say - WH Questions are a few of my favs).

If you'd like to download a copy of my Notes Home click on the links below. There are two forms on each sheet. I print out multiple copies, cut them in half, and put them in a folder on my desk. When I need to send practice activities home, I pull one out, fill it out, and attach it to the assignment/activity.

2. Notes on desks (and on the refrigerator at home) - Post-It Notes, Laminated Cards, a Symbol Picture Card...whatever it is that my student chooses as their reminder is what I will use. Typically we will discretely place one on the corner of the desk as a reminder to use good sounds (or complete sentences, etc...). Then, I will send a little note home and have the student put one on their refrigerator for a visual reminder at home too. I've also used bands and/or bracelets. It just depends on the student, but it's important for them to choose and have ownership of whatever it is.

3. Classroom Appearances -  It's amazing how much of a visual reminder I become to my students! I LOVE going into classrooms, and it's amazing to see my kids make progress where it really counts!

Don't forget to head back over to the LINKY PARTY to check out what other SLPs are using! Enjoy!

Love it & List it: Language Apps {LINKY PARTY}

Jenna, over at Speech Room News, is hosting her monthly linky party. This month SLPs are linking up to talk about their favorite language apps.

I've linked up and listed a few of my favorite language apps below. There were so many great ones to choose from - but these seem to be the ones I use the most.

1. Sentence Maker (by Grasshopper Apps) - There is a free version and a pro version. I happen to have the pro version, and I use it all the time! This app helps my students with limited verbal abilities expand their sentences, while using a mixture of sentence types. It also helps my students working on sentence structure generate complete sentences with correct word forms. The app offers a variety of settings (with pictures, without pictures, with verbal cues, without verbal cues, with written cues, etc...). I've included a few screenshots below.

2. One Step Two Step Following Directions (by Synapse Apps, LLC) - There is a lite version (FREE) and a professional version. Again, I purchased the pro version, and it's one of my go to apps for students working on one and two step directions. Again, I've included a few screenshots below.

3. Autism iHelp Wh-Questions (by John Talavera) - This is a free app, however you have the capability of purchasing more question choices within the app. I love this app for my students who are working on responding to basic wh-questions. The pictures are clear and simple, and the app provides a nice variety of questions. I've included some screen shots below.

Thanks for checking out some of my favorite apps! Click here and head back over to Speech Room News and find out what other SLPs are saying!

Love it & List it: Vocabulary {LINKY PARTY}

P-A-R-T...WHY? Because we gotta! It's time for another linky party! I'm joining Jenna over at Speech Room News to talk about some of my favorite vocabulary activities. There are lots of great resources out there to target vocabulary I've listed some of my favorites below. Enjoy.

1. Vanilla Vocabulary (as a companion to Visualizing and Verbalizing and Talkies) created by Nanci Bell and Phyllis Lindamood; published by Gander Publishing. I've used these sets for the last few years. According to the website the Vanilla Vocabulary set "develops vocabulary through imagery. Each word is defined and then is used in sentences for the student to visualize and verbalize. Space is provided for students to write their own sentences." If students have been through the V/V program, they typically do well visualizing the vocabulary from this set. There are two books in this series (level 1 - primary level words for grades 1-3; and level 2 intermediate level words for grades 4-8). I also use the two read a long books that come with this set - "Ivan - King of the Neighborhood" and "Ivan Sleeps Over". These books expose the student to the vocabulary in context in V/V (high-imagery) text.

2. Vocabulary Worksheets - I love using story books and text books (especially my older students) when ever I can. I'll have the student read with me, and if we find a word that we don't know, or we need more information on, we'll grab a vocabulary worksheet.  There are several worksheets I've used in the past, the one I'm currently using asks the student to: write the word, use it in a sentence, find it's part of speech, define it or draw it, and find synonyms and antonyms for the word. See sheet below - grab the freebie from my TpT store here.

3. Flip Flap Definition Books - I picked these up during the last TpT BTS sale from Speech2u. Click here to check them out  My students love these!

Don't forget to head over to Speech Room News to check out the party!

Enjoy!
